There are a bunch of players that are undroppable at the moment, for better or for worse. Eder Militao is one of them. The man has played 35 out of 37 games this season. It’s unreal. The depth chart isn’t looking too good at central defense, and Real Madrid will reportedly be thinking of some reinforcements come March.

But, their current centre-backs – or at least their starting centre-backs – are untouchable. David Alaba and Eder Militao are performing at an elite level, and Real Madrid have no intention of moving on from them.

David Alaba was obviously just signed, but Militao was signed solely because he’s an other-worldly talent that was capable of leading the team forward when Ramos and Varane leave the club, and he’s done that.

But, now, according to reports, there are three big clubs that are showing interest in the former Porto man.

Chelsea, Bayern and Manchester United reportedly want Militao, but there’s no way Real Madrid would sell him

According to Mario Cortegana, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Manchester United are interested in signing Eder Militao, and they’ve asked of him. Chelsea have even requested for a meeting that will take place sometime in the future.

According to the report, Real Madrid is and will continue to be Militao’s priority, and he’s happy with the coach, and doesn’t really feel like moving in World Cup year.

A contract extension until 2025 is in Real Madrid’s plans, but they’ve yet to act on it. However, it is said that the player also wants to renew. Even the thought of Militao leaving Real Madrid right now is both unimaginable and scary. He’s been one of the team’s best players, and Los Blancos simply would not let him go unless he asks for it.

Real Madrid have properly picked some players to form the base of the team for the present and the future, and Eder Militao is one big piece. His game was well beyond his age even when the club signed him for a hefty fee in 2019. And somehow, in limited gametime, he showed Real Madrid that he’d be ready to lead the defensive line when the time comes. They put their faith in him, and the Brazilian has delivered.

Leaving now, in the exact period of time for which Militao was bought in the first place would not make the slightest bit of sense, which is why I really, really don’t think the player has any intention to do so. Chelsea do need a centre-back pretty soon and Militao would be a great pick for them, but I don’t think that even an absurd amount of money would make the club move on from him, especially not right now.
