5 players Real Madrid cannot afford to lose under any circumstances
Fede Valverde
I think I rate Fede Valverde higher than many people rate Fede Valverde. The guy is very good, and each time he gets an opportunity to show his talents, I tune in. You can’t blame me.
I think the two things I love about Fede Valverde is his love for the club, which was obvious, and the energy and versatility that he brings to the team each time he plays, which was, well, also obvious.
Over the course of his Real Madrid career, the man has played in the following positions: Right-back, right midfielder, right-winger, central midfielder, defensive midfielder, second striker. I’d keep him around just for this reason: He’s never really been really bad in any of the six positions I just mentioned.
The biggest reason why he’s able to play on so many positions is his energy. He never stops running. He’s fast, explosive, hard-working, and a winner. He’d do anything to win, and that includes fouling Alvaro Morata and getting a red card, taking one for the team.
Valverde’s ball-carrying ability is a huge reason why I don’t miss Mateo Kovacic as much anymore. Kovacic was elegant with the ball-carrying, and Fede is more explosive with it.
There are so many gaps that Valverde is able to fill, and going forward, he’d be one of Real Madrid’s most important players. He’s an insanely good two-way presence who always wants to improve, and soon enough, Valverde will definitely become one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the game.
Apart from that, he just loves to play for this club. He gives his all each time he steps onto the pitch, and he’s never afraid to show how much the club means to him.
Besides, who doesn’t want to see Valverde rip Barcelona apart time and time again in the future? I know I do. All the more reason to keep him around. Tell me I’m wrong. I dare you.
