Real Madrid are preparing for an intriguing summer 2022 transfer window. After two summers with only minimal signings and significant departures, Madridistas are hoping to see the team spend big, which means doing more than just sign Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer.

While Mbappe alone would definitely change a lot for Los Blancos, fans of the club understand that there is a lot of work to do in order to return this club to its rightful status as the best in the world.

Here is a look at three summer signings who could be upgrades and key players for both the present and future with minimal risk.

PSG FW Kylian Mbappe

Let’s start with the obvious. Kylian Mbappe is as safe as it gets. Not only has he been the most valuable player in the world in terms of transfer value over the past few years, but he is now quite clearly the best player in the world. He proved it at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League against the very team he is fully expected to join this summer.

The 23-year-old is dominating in every phase of the game. He is carrying the ball and starting attacks, creating chances for his teammates, assisting goals, and, of course, scoring. Mbappe is a threat to score every time he touches the ball, and if he gets into open space, watch out. Even if you sit back against him, he will eventually score, as we saw against Real Madrid. Not even Thibaut Courtois could keep him out forever.

Mbappe is the best player in the world and could be signed for free. He has years of elite level play under his belt. Erling Haaland is a fantastic player, but not even he can compare to the body of work Mbappe has put together. Nobody can, accounting for his age and consistent quality.
