Real Madrid is building a team for the future, and as a part of that, they are renewing the contracts of players who are expected to play a big role in the future. The club had recently extended the contract of the young Fede Valverde until 2027, and also renewed Casemiro’s contract, as he’s in his prime and is expected by the club to be a future captain.

As per a report from GOAL, the club is expected to renew the contract of two more important players, Vinicius Junior and Eder Militao. Their contracts aren’t ending anytime soon, but Real Madrid seems to recognise that they have had a bigger role this season, and they have excelled in their new role.

Vinicius Junior and Eder Militao’s respective release clauses are a sign that Real Madrid trusts these two players

While Vinicius has been the support that Karim Benzema needed in the final third, Eder MIlitao has formed a great partnership with David Alaba at the back. They deserve a raise for their performances, and Vinicius in particular, who’s one of the lowest earners at the club, desperately needs a raise.

It is also mentioned that Real Madrid is willing to include an astronomical release clause of one billion euros in their new contracts. There are only two other players with such a high release clause at the club – Karim Benzema and Fede Valverde.

These high release clauses don’t mean a lot, because no club would be willing to pay such a high price for players. But it is a sign of the faith that the club has placed in them, and indicates that they are being seen as the future of the club.

In some cases, like that of Brahim Diaz who has a release clause of 750 million euros, the release clause isn’t in accordance with the attitude of the club towards a player. But the high release clause definitely helps the club to put a full stop to interest from clubs like PSG and Chelsea, who have been after the Brazilians for a while and are waiting for an opportunity to lure the players.
