3. Manchester City RW Bernardo Silva

The next player on the list is one who recently revealed his desire to play for the Royal White club. I am of course talking about Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva. City hasn’t had a center-forward in the real sense. They are in the race for Erling Haaland’s signature in the summer and so far, their goals have been courtesy of their wingers and advanced midfielders.

Silva falls in both of these categories. While he has been getting his starts at the right side of the attack mostly as a winger, he has also had various starting positions including the center-forward, the central attacking midfielder, and a deeper-lying playmaker. That is what stands out about Silva as a player, he is versatile.

He would just be an investment to fill up one role, but, he is someone whose game can change per the need of the club. Another club veteran, Isco is rumored to leave in the summer and Bernardo Silva, in my eyes, could be a like-for-like replacement. I am sure fans remember the days when Isco started for Real Madrid on the wings!

Silva is 27 years old and is in his absolute footballing prime. Real Madrid has in the past profited from signing players in their prime with David Alaba being the latest example. They also have their eyes on Franck Kessie and that should give you an idea of how Real Madrid is trying to balance between signing youngsters and also supplying enough experience into the squad. Silva fits in perfectly in the scheme of things and of course, his goal-scoring and defensive contribution are very handy and will further enhance his case for a Real Madrid transfer.
