1. Thibaut Courtois

You cannot tell me a finer Real Madrid redemption storyline than Thibaut Courtois’, since the goalkeeper has defined all the phrases used in his appreciation. Without a question, I believe (and you should too) that the Belgian Wall has been Real Madrid’s most consistent and finest player this season.

Words cannot describe how important Courtois has been because without his saves, Real would most likely be lurking somewhere down the league table, preparing for another winless season. You can bring any number of arguments before me but I would not find it sane enough if you deny the fact that he is the best goalkeeper in the world right now.

Courtois is the only player for whom I am really sad because, despite doing everything in his power, the squad was unable to defend the goalkeeper’s priceless clean sheet. Everything went perfectly for the Belgian against PSG, with many saves from as close as his chest and a penalty, but it was his companions who let him down.

To protect the goal against PSG again is a challenge I am certain Courtois can easily do, and without a question, the goalkeeper will play a significant, and probably the most important role in determining the outcome after 90 minutes on March 9th.
