Secure Erling Haaland with Kylian Mbappe

While I am not going to boldly claim that Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid is a done deal, I will operate under the expectation that he will join the club, given how many lucrative offers he has rejected from PSG. The Parisians sound increasingly like they understand Mbappe will leave, though they continue to try to keep him because, I mean, why wouldn’t you do everything to keep the best player in the world if you have essentially unlimited funding?

The task will be convincing Erling Haaland to sign with Mbappe. At the end of the day, Mbappe knows where he stands. He is the best in the world, he has years of proof of his production, he won the World Cup, and he is going to be the center of the project.

Haaland is the one who needs more convincing. Not financially. That’s easy. Just throw money at him and his representation. Manchester City may offer more, but that’s probably not going to convince Haaland one way or another. Like Mbappe, he knows he’s going to do fine financially no matter what.

Real Madrid need to really hammer out that Haaland will accomplish more and have a better legacy with Mbappe than without. Use the three-peat run, BBC, the Galacticos…whatever you need to in order to show Haaland that this is what Real is about. Real is about sharing the spotlight among stars in a way that so many other clubs are not. How many superstars have you seen reach another level of popularity at City? Who are their Ballon d’Or winners? As for Barcelona, Lionel Messi and Neymar did not last as a duo for as long as Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, and Cristiano Ronaldo co-existed. They did not win as many Champions Leagues. I wonder why…

Los Blancos have distinct advantages here. They need to hammer those home to Haaland. As the charismatic leader with the Galactic blueprint, a majority of that responsibility ultimately falls on the shoulders of Perez.
