The year 2022 is just over two months young, but there are a few Real Madrid players who have already boosted their respective stocks to start the year, thanks to some strong performances.

Remember, Los Blancos have more players to watch than just the 25 men registered to the first team. There are the players in Castilla, of course. But there are also the loanees, of which a couple of them seem to have first-team futures.

So considering all these players, let us take a look at three men who are quickly boosting their stocks in the new year.

CM Eduardo Camavinga

We begin with the heroic goal-scorer at the Santiago Bernabeu this past Saturday night against Real Sociedad. Los Blancos seemed headed for another disappointing first half, down 1-0 after Dani Carvajal’s ill-advised challenge on David Silva led to a penalty goal for Mikel Oyarzabal.

But Eduardo Camavinga had other plans. After taking a pass from Luka Modric that the referee just evaded, the Frenchman realized he was in an awful lot of space at the heart of the pitch. Facing a La Real side that sat back deep to frustrate Real, Camavinga realized he had a real shot at scoring if he uncorked one with enough venom and accuracy.

The end result was astonishing and the finest goal of Camavinga’s promising young career. It helped spark a comeback and a massive 4-1 win over Real Sociedad.

Beyond the goal, Camavinga has been solid in his other matches, including in the Copa del Rey. There have been times, such as against Alcoyano in the first half, when the ex-Rennes man was the lone positive.

He has so much potential, and even though he does not play often enough, that should be changing. In just a few appearances, Camavinga has reaffirmed the notion that he was an absolute bargain in the summer 2021 transfer market.
