3 underrated factors that could decide the Champions League tie between Real Madrid and PSG
The Forward Line
Every single player will be important on the night. The eleven players that take the pitch will have very specific instructions and any mistake could prove to be costly. But since Los Merengues need goals, it’s vital that we focus on our forward line. The expectation for the front three is going to be Vinicius Junior, Marco Asensio, and Karim Benzema. All three will need to have the game of their lives to make sure that they’re able to hurt the PSG defense and get the all-important goals.
Vinicius Junior will be playing in front of the fans of the Santiago Bernabeu and we have seen how much he loves having them cheer him on and how much they love feeding him that motivation. Maybe he hasn’t been at his devastating best in recent weeks but he also has continued to be dangerous. He will be taking it all up a notch once the game begins and a motivated Vinicius is a very, very dangerous Vinicius.
On the opposite flank, Asensio is expected to start. He was seemingly rested during the weekend with Rodrygo Goes taking his place. He struggled a lot in the first leg but he’s a professional who has undoubtedly looked back on that game to see what could be done better. He has also received instructions from the manager on how he can make the most of his skills. Say what you want about Asensio but he scores goals. He’s currently third in the score chart in the league and now he will be aiming to make his mark on the European stage.
Starting off with these three players up front can make a difference and knowing that we have other strong options on the bench that could come on will be vital. Rodrygo can bring something different to the team if required. Even players like Gareth Bale or Eden Hazard could be seen as potential substitutes depending on how the game progresses.
