Real Madrid will do whatever they can to sign Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland this summer. Not only is a superstar double-swoop a dream for Florentino Perez, who has been a specialist in pulling off these sorts of unthinkable windows, but Los Blancos also know that their reputation is built on having footballers like Haaland and Mbappe in their side. To maintain their status as the “It” club in football, they must have this kind of attacking firepower and superstar name recognition in their side.

However, as Perez found out in his first stint as president, a team needs to be solid as a team. The role players are also very important. Madridistas appreciate the hard defending and lung-busting running of those who support the top attackers. Just look at how much respect the likes of Nacho Fernandez and Fede Valverde get.

So in addition to Haaland and Mbappe, Real Madrid need to make sure the rest of the squad is reinforced. And given Dani Carvajal’s injuries, there is potentially no greater need than right back.

Bringing back Alvaro Odriozola from his loan to Fiorentina is one option, but it is not an exciting one. Real Madrid fans want to see a stronger player in the side, especially since this player will have to start a significant number of games if Carvajal’s injuries continue to be an issue as he gets older.

Nordi Mukiele is rejecting renewal offers from RB Leipzig

In the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig’s Nordi Mukiele is a name who gets overlooked, because he is not as exciting as some other options. But he has been a starter for Leipzig for a couple of seasons, fulfilling this role well at one of the league’s top sides.

According to a report from Bild, via BuLiNews.com’s Rune Gjerulff, Mukiele is expected to leave in the summer 2022 transfer window after rejecting a recent renewal offer from Leipzig. Although Mukiele will not be a free agent – like another favorable target in Ajax’s Noussair Mazraoui – he has just one year left on his contract. So if he is uninterested in re-signing, Leipzig may be forced to sell. And at a cut rate.

That could make Mukiele a safe, affordable transfer target for Real Madrid. This is a player who can attack and defend, and he has better “film” over the past couple of seasons than Odriozola. At 23 years old, he’s also younger and has more room to grow than the ex-Real Sociedad man.

dark. Next. But RB Leipzig want to steal one of Real Madrid's defenders

Mukiele would reportedly prefer to move to the Premier League, but who says no to Real Madrid if they are interested? A preference does not mean Mukiele is locked in anywhere, and it is unlikely that the three top teams in England would be interested. Mukiele is good, but he would never start for Manchester City, Liverpool, or Chelsea with the right backs they have.
