Real Madrid are coming off two of their biggest wins of the 2021/22 season. After defeating Real Sociedad 4-1 over the weekend, courtesy of two first-half wondergoals from midfielders Eduardo Camavinga and Luka Modric, Los Blancos completed an unforgettable Champions League comeback at the Santiago Bernabeu by beating PSG 3-1. All three goals were scored by the living legend up top, Karim Benzema.
Los Merengues will not play this weekend in LaLiga, as their fixture will be next week on Monday against Mallorca at the Iberostar Stadium. The last time they played Mallorca at this venue, they lost 1-0 back in the 2019/20 season. So despite blowing out Mallorca 6-1 earlier in 2021/22, Real will not take anything for granted.
Here is a starting XI prediction for Real Madrid at Mallorca.
GK Thibaut Courtois
Thibaut Courtois is the most obvious start every single week. He is the best goalkeeper in the world right now and regularly keeps Real in matches.
LB Ferland Mendy
After serving a suspension in the Champions League second leg, Ferland Mendy will return to the starting lineup with a point to prove. Los Blancos expect more from him offensively.
CB David Alaba
David Alaba was one of the heroes for Real Madrid against PSG, and his highlight of playing Kylian Mbappe offsides has made plenty of rounds on social media. The No. 4 is up there with the very best center backs in the world. Like Courtois, Alaba is a must-start for the Merengue club.
CB Eder Militao
The more active of the two center backs in his playing style, Eder Militao was also world-class in the win over PSG. Militao just keeps reaching a new level with each passing month. He shows no fear defensively and is wise beyond his years defensively at the age of 23. Militao is a special center back, and Madridistas feel blessed to have him in their side.
RB Dani Carvajal
Although Dani Carvajal could use some rest, that’s unlikely. He is one of those players who starts whenever healthy. Hopefully, Carvajal can have a bounce-back day against a much easier opponent than Kylian Mbappe.
