Real Madrid Transfers: Eden Hazard has nowhere to go now
In the midst of all things happening regarding Kylian Mbappe’s near-inevitable transfer to Real Madrid, and the club’s pursuit of Erling Haaland – even though it looks a little unlikely now – we’ve forgotten about one player. Eden Hazard hasn’t been playing a whole lot. In fact, he hasn’t been playing at all.
The last game he started for Real Madrid was almost two months ago, and he’s just made cameos off the bench since then, ones that hold little to no regard or relevance, really. Since Eden Hazard’s last start for the club, he’s only featured for 50 minutes, across four games. That’s not a great record.
Obviously, Real Madrid would want him sold as soon as possible because he earns a lot of money and isn’t being used by Ancelotti right now. But, the question is, who would buy him?
Chelsea was the most likely destination for Eden Hazard, but it seems like that’s out of the window
Chelsea are in quite a pickle at the moment. The club is not doing all that well. Their owner, Roman Abramovich has been sanctioned by the UK government, and his attempt to sell the club has been put on hold, as Chelsea operate on a special licence issued by the government that allows the club to continue training and playing games, but they can’t buy or sell any players. Some of their players might want out at some point, when all of this is solved, at least to an extent.
That leaves Hazard in an unfortunate situation, since Chelsea’s the club he’s been linked to the most, and it made sense for him to go back in an attempt to rekindle the magic that made him such an unstoppable force in the Premier League.
Without Chelsea, the options that are available are very few and far between. I guess you can count Newcastle as a possible destination, but even though he helps with shirt sales and would act as a mentor to the young players in the squad, topped with the fact that moving back to the Premier League should help him, would Newcastle even want Hazard at the club for sporting reasons? Wouldn’t they be better off signing younger players that’ll accept a lower wage?
The only other option I feel is LOSC Lille, but unless Hazard takes a huge pay cut, the move won’t be possible from a financial sense.

Chelsea were the only real chance for Hazard to get a fresh start, but, at least for now, that club is no longer an option for the Belgian.
