Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz is the main priority from the Bundesliga side, as he is already one of the best players in the world as a teenager. Hopefully, he has a full recovery from his ACL tear. Until then, we cannot pressure him by putting him on Real’s radar too closely.

But Leverkusen have several other players worth watching. This team tends to have a ton of exciting young talents, with Kai Havertz having been the latest megastar to make a move, joining Chelsea in 2020.

Piero Hincapie is no megastar, but the 20-year-old Ecuadorian defender is a versatile player with a great deal of upside. He has been impressive in his first season with Leverkusen, showing great energy to get forward in addition to solid defensive instincts. Hincapie is yet another Leverkusen player who is more mature than his age, and while he is overshadowed by a number of his teammates, that also means he is quietly doing his job well.

Real Madrid should value center backs in the Bundesliga for their ability to defend transition and to play on an island in such an attack-friendly league. Hincapie is probably someone to watch as he develops, but he is already very much someone worth putting high on the list of Bundesliga targets. The secret is not out on the young player yet, but he will become a well-known name within a year or two.
