Here’s how much Manchester City are offering Erling Haaland compared to Real Madrid
Real Madrid and Manchester City are prepared to battle it out for Erling Haaland‘s signature over the next few weeks, which is when the Dortmund superstar is expected to make his final decision on his future club.
Los Blancos have an advantage in the sense that Haaland has long wanted to play there, but, financially, we know they are well behind City.
While the financial details won’t be the defining factor with Haaland, Mino Raiola’s presence makes this more complicated than the PSG vs. Madrid battle for Kylian Mbappe where money has played a very minor role.
According to a recent report from Fabrizio Romano on his Here We Go podcast, via MadridXtra on Twitter, Erling Haaland has received a better financial offer from Manchester City than Real Madrid.
Manchester City will make Haaland the best-paid player in the Premier League
However, Haaland has not decided yet, and Romano notes the Merengue contract offer is “not far off” compared to what the Premier League champions are offering.
The Daily Mail’s Mike Keegan reported, via City Xtra on Twitter, that Manchester City are prepared to make Erling Haaland the best-paid player in the Premier League.
They are offering more than 500,000 pounds per week to the Norwegian in order to entice the player to choose them over Los Blancos in the short term.
Haaland could very well play for both clubs in his career, but the team that gets him first will have the best chance of keeping him for longer. Real Madrid have their reasons for optimism, especially if Florentino Perez decides to go all in. The question is, will he? After all, he can wait to sign him from City in a few years, as he did with Mbappe from PSG after the Frenchman chose his hometown club after playing for Ligue 1 rivals Monaco. And, of course, Perez has to integrate Mbappe into a squad that already has the world-class Karim Benzema up top.

Galacticos go together, though. So don’t count out Real Madrid. If Haaland’s main objectives are trophies and the sporting project, the marginal difference in contract offers will not be the deciding factor. Of course, the financial differences, slight as they may be, could be telling if Raiola has more influence than we expect.
