Game Changers

Real Madrid may not have the best squad in Europe but they do have a very solid starting eleven. Part of the starting lineup are players who have been through this many times in the past and like we saw against PSG, can change the game in an instant.

Luka Modric turned it up a notch in the second half of their last game to completely boss the midfield. His run prior to passing the ball to Vinicius was a work of art. If that wasn’t enough, the move ended with the ball at his feet as he passed it between Kimpembe’s legs to Benzema who found the back of the net. The Croatian manages to find magic from places we never even knew existed in order to give Los Merengues the control of the game. He’s a key figure in the team at 36-years-old.

Karim Benzema’s hat-trick was beautiful to see but that only continued to prove something we all know: He’s the best forward in the game. The Frenchman has proven time and time again that if he’s in the team, hope is always going to still be alive. He somehow continues to be underestimated but has no problems proving people wrong whenever he takes the pitch. He’s apparently almost at the level of Harry Kane according to Micah Richards. I guess that just shows how much people, including paid pundits, underestimate him.

In addition to Modric and Benzema, the Real Madrid squad are full of players capable of changing the game at any given time. Vinicius Junior, Thibaut Courtois, and Toni Kroos are just some names that have been a massive part of the team’s success.
