Villarreal CB Pau Torres

I made the case for Arnaut Danjuma in a previous article highlighting dream targets from top LaLiga clubs, as the new signing has been a revelation in a Villarreal attack that usually features Gerardo Moreno heavily.

But let’s circle back to Pau Torres, who was popularly linked to Real Madrid in 2021 and is coming off a splendid performance against Juventus. Torres was a stalwart defensively in that 3-0 win, outshining the more hyped Matthijs de Ligt on the other side of the pitch.

Torres is a leader at heart and an important player to Villarreal. He is Villarreal through and through. Eventually, I assume he will have to leave the Yellow Submarine, but he has already helped his hometown club achieve great things, including a Europa League triumph over Manchester United and a berth in the Champions League quarterfinals.

Bayern Munich CM Joshua Kimmich

Goodness there are so many players to choose from. Wingers Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, and 2023 free agent Serge Gnabry are all class. Robert Lewandowski is the only man who can go toe-to-toe with Karim Benzema up top. And Alphonso Davies is the best left back in the world.

Yet I am still going with Joshua Kimmich as the dream transfer target from the mighty Bayern Munich. He is an all-around master in the midfield when it comes to his passing, control of matches, defensive work, game intelligence, and threat from distance. Once one of the best right backs in the world, Kimmich has exerted more influence as an equally great midfielder. He is even more consistent and helpful to Bayern in this midfield role.

Kimmich has three goals, seven assists, and a jaw-dropping 2.9 key passes per game in the Bundesliga with an additional two fouls drawn. He also draws at least two fouls per game with at least two key passes per game in the Champions League.

Those are outstanding numbers and clearly befitting of someone who could be a big figure at Real Madrid. Bayern would never, ever let him go, surely, but that’s why he is a dream target. Lewandowski is Bayern’s best player, yes, but Kimmich is not far behind.
