Not every Real Madrid fan will find this amusing, but if you want the latest example of how wild the transfer rumor mill is – and how very little we all trust it – take a look at this latest Kylian Mbappe report.

According to L’Equipe, Barcelona have suddenly entered the transfer battle for Mbappe with a late proposal, as they believe they have a chance of stealing the world-class forward away from arch-rivals Real Madrid. Maybe they were galvanized by their Clasico demolition of Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu this past Sunday night.

Barcelona already pretended to be interested in one Madrid target, Erling Haaland, knowing full well they did not have the money to afford him. But apparently, they think their loan from Goldman Sachs and sponsorship with Spotify will help them financially, while they have an attractive sporting project to at least give Mbappe something to think about. After all, Mbappe is free, and only his father requires a commission for he is also the agent. Meanwhile, Haaland still has a 75 million euro transfer fee and Mino Raiola to pay.

I don’t doubt that Joan Laporta is sticking his foot in the door and trying to sweep Mbappe away from Madrid. That sounds exactly like something a formidable foe and great president of a rival club would do. It does not hurt to ask.

Kylian Mbappe to Barcelona makes no sense

Here is what I don’t get. Why is L’Equipe the one to report this? This seems like the kind of article Sport would sent out there. And why is L’Equipe conveniently ignoring all the clear indications from Mbappe that he would ONLY choose between Real Madrid and PSG. That has been the story for about a year at this point. Just what the heck changed?

Nothing changed, except maybe PSG’s desperation. Notice a key part of this report. It claims that because Mbappe has apparently not shut the door on a Barcelona proposal, PSG still believe he has not decided his future after all. Contrast that to other reports stating a deal has already been quietly agreed upon between Mbappe and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

It is amazing the kinds of bogus reports we have seen from the French media, quickly disputed by outlets outside a group of papers that are fed propaganda from the sportswashers of Qatar. They have no popularity among PSG fans due to their inability to run their own team, and now they are trying to spread more fiction about the Mbappe transfer through the media to cause unrest.

Give it up. You lost. You have no idea how to run a football club despite all of your petrodollars. Focus on youth, your academy, giving players opportunities, and building a successful model that does not involve threatening to hold star players hostage and signing over-the-hill veterans who do not fit your gameplan. Leave Mbappe alone.

Next. 3 forwards for Real Madrid to sign instead of Haaland. dark

As for Barcelona, they have a great thing going. Why would they suddenly invest a ton of money in one player if they were not going to do this with Haaland? It does not make sense. Under Xavi, they have a clear vision and are making smart investments in free agents like Franck Kessie and Noussari Mazraoui. Mbappe is not for them. He has been a Madridista since childhood.
