2. Eduardo Camavinga

Eduardo Camavinga was one of the brightest teenage prospects last season, and at the age of 18, he was too big of a talent for Stade Rennais, and his admirers included Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid, for whom he finally signed.

His arrival at the Bernabeu, however, was no easy task, and it came as a big surprise on the deadline day of last summer’s trade period, which was already packed with the nerve-wracking Mbappe saga, which eventually failed and pushed Real to go all-in for Camavinga, who had been on Los Blancos’ radar for quite some time.

Camavinga is not your typical centre midfielder, and his youth and raw talent allow him to fill a variety of roles. His task is mainly focused on progressing the play and getting the ball out of a tight area while keeping an eye on the receiver.

You would hardly see the Frenchman dribbling on the field unless there is a huge space in front of him; he does not like entering a congested box; rather, his focus is on moving the ball forward through sharp passes in between the defence line in short bursts that change the game’s transition in the blink of an eye.

Camavinga also offers defensive aptitude, which leads people to mistake him for a defensive midfielder, which he is largely not. He is aggressive with his tackles on the ball while still being highly observant and careful with his bookings. It’s ridiculous that he’s just 19 years old.

His position at Real Madrid is in rivalry with Casemiro, who is nearly unreplaceable due to his defensive qualities, although as previously said, Camavinga is not far behind. He is young, new, and raw, and he might be utilised more regularly in Casemiro’s stead to give the Brazilian a well-deserved rest while also preparing him for bigger forthcoming matchups.
