LW Vinicius Jr.

Vinicius Jr. struggled against Barcelona, as he was isolated high and wide left in a tactical setup that was constructed with no real thought by Carlo Ancelotti. The Brazilian left winger should fare a lot better against Celta Vigo this weekend, and he will be riding high on confidence after scoring his first goal for his national team during the international “break”.

With 14 goals and 6 assists in LaLiga this season, Vini has been one of the two best players in the league. He is the matchwinner for Real in so many ways, and he will love the matchup he has on paper against Celta. They do not have a player on the left side of the defense who can hang with Vini Jr.’s world-class quality.

CF Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema will also like the matchup ahead of him. With 22 goals in LaLiga, Benzema is the clear Pichichi favorite and is building another excellent Ballon d’Or case. Surely, Lionel Messi cannot take the honors from him this time, though Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski certainly remains a worthy adversary.

In LaLiga, Benzema is peerless, as he has shown time after time this season. And without him, Real Madrid were a train-wreck, though, of course, the issues went beyond missing their star No. 9. Though as we saw against PSG, Benz really is that much of a difference-maker for the Merengues. He could very well bag another brace this weekend.

RW Rodrygo Goes

The best option to start on the right-hand side, with all due respect to Real Madrid legend Gareth Bale, Rodrygo Goes needs to show more consistency in order to keep starting. Rodrygo brings the energy, defensive work-rate, and creation that Marco Asensio does not, so he is superior to the Spanish forward. But Real require a very high standard in attack, which Rodrygo is not meeting in terms of end product. Though he has done well in the Champions League, the young winger has just one assist and zero goals in LaLiga.
