3) Mason Mount

This guy just keeps on showing up whenever his team needs him. In a team full of superstars, Mason Mount, being at Chelsea since his early teenage years, still gets the nod over so many other talented players. It just goes to show that he is actually worthy of those starts.

There’s a reason why Frank Lampard gave him the keys to the attack during his first season. There’s a reason why Tuchel prefers him over some other big-money signings. There’s a reason why he starts for England under Gareth Southgate. All this just proves that he actually is good, and not just another overhyped English talent.

Mount has eight goals and seven assists to his name this season, which is great, and considering he’s so heavily involved in the final third for Chelsea, it’s not that surprising how underrated he is defensively. The Englishman is a really good presser, and helps out a ton defensively as well.

The role that Tuchel has given him is perfect for a hard-working player like him, and it’s something that caused Real Madrid a lot of problems last season, and it could cause them a lot of problems this season if they don’t do it right.

The fact of the matter is that Mount hasn’t really been at his best all season. He was better last season, but he’s sort of becoming a big game player. He always comes through for Chelsea when it matters the most, and it’s the quality that is most appreciated by all Chelsea fans. The fact that he leads the team in almost every attacking metric and that he’s able to play in numerous positions across the front line makes it a whole lot scarier, simply because we know this isn’t even his best.

So, with Mount, the form doesn’t really matter, and Real Madrid need to be wary of that when they face him.
