3. Timo Werner will carry more threat than Lukaku

Chelsea bought Romelu Lukaku from Inter this summer for a whopping 97.5 Million pounds. After a good start to the season, he has faded away. He has scored just nine goals till now for the club in all competitions. Moreover, he got embroiled in unnecessary controversy. It has not proved to be a great signing thus far.

Timo Werner on the other hand has spent almost two seasons at the club now. He was bought from the German club RB Leipzig. Although he has been good in patches, he has struggled in front of the goal. He is quick off the blocks and has the skills to reach the opposition half quickly. But he struggles to put away chances. As a result, he has been the face of ridicule many times in the past couple of seasons.

Although Romelu Lukaku is a better finisher than Timo Werner, I feel the latter will carry more threat in the match. Lukaku will be up against Eder Miliato. Notwithstanding Miliato’s slight physical structure, he can bully opposition strikers. He is very strong and quick. Therefore I feel he will be able to contain Lukaku without any hiccups.

Real Madrid’s defense does struggle against Pace. Whenever we are forced to defend in transition against quick attackers we tend to struggle a bit. Timo Werner can surprise us with pace. He was a threat last time as well. He even scored the first goal of the second leg in Stamford Bridge. Therefore I feel it is important to neutralize Werner’s pace because once he is off the blocks he can release players like Havertz and Mount. If Real Madrid defends well and controls the pace of the game, it will be a huge step toward a Semi-Final berth.
