4. The Other Leagues are Falling Behind the Premier League

While Manchester City and PSG usually tend to get the brunt of the criticism for the inflated transfer market (concerns now arising about Newcastle), another reason for this has been the massive TV rights deal the Premier League has, which sees even relegated sides receive incredible amounts. Even the relegated-threatened teams can sign top players from clubs competing for European places in other leagues. This has greatly benefited them as it now sees all the best investors, executives, coaches, directors, and players all going to the Premier League.

On the contrary, it has seriously affected the other main leagues to the point that there are quality coaches and players leaving teams in the top divisions to join championship sides. Although many of them have signed new TV deals, they are still not anywhere near what the Premier League makes and will continue to generate.

The Champions League has done very little to level the playing field as UEFA takes a large portion of the revenue generated. Even if the Manchester City, Newcastle, and PSG ownership groups sell their teams, the disparity with Premier League will only increase. Unless the Super League happens, which will significantly bridge the gap with the Premier League, the English sides will only continue to get financially stronger and make it extremely difficult for even the top teams from the other main competitions to compete.
