5 reasons why the European Super League needs to happen
1. The Super League will Generate More Revenue, Interest, and Opportunities
With the increased revenue, it will bridge the gap with the Premier League and financially strengthen the other main leagues. This would allow those clubs to use it in their domestic leagues, which will trickle its way to the bottom sides and give them sufficient funds to sign better players; improving the quality of the leagues and eventually allowing them to sign better TV rights deals that would further level them with the Premier League. It will also benefit the nonparticipating leagues as the increased revenue and spending will spread across the entire continent.
Viewership will also increase with better quality of games and a tournament that sees the best sides facing each other almost every week. This would give the clubs leverage to put pressure on FIFA, UEFA, and the leagues to figure out ways to reduce the number of games at both domestic and international levels, giving players the necessary rest they need to be in peak conditions. Additionally, a women’s Super League will also be created, which would significantly increase the quality, viewership, and revenue for the women’s game. UEFA says the Super League is being done out of greed and will destroy football (again, laughable), but that is completely false. On the contrary, the international and domestic footballing competitions will only get better.
