2. Dortmund CM Jude Bellingham

And yet as amazing as Eduardo Camavinga is, I cannot even place him in the top two because the players ahead of him have been two of the best players in Europe this season. Camavinga could maybe be in this bracket with more playing time, but, alas, I have to be fair and give Jude Bellingham the nod over him.

Bellingham is so good, in fact, that he is a Real Madrid transfer target for 2023. The ball-carrying England international is already world-class, and he is almost impossible to take the ball off of – at least, not without fouling him. Increasingly frustrated with the overrated Bundesliga referees, the 18-year-old has drawn 2.8 fouls per game in Germany’s top flight – as well as in the Champions League.

With 10 total goal contributions in the Bundesliga this season, Bellingham is already one of the most prolific true center midfielders at providing end product. You can see why so many Madridistas dream of this current Dortmund star joining the Merengues in 2023.

1. Bayer Leverkusen AM Florian Wirtz

Yet another Bundesliga target for Real Madrid, we can only continue to wish the sensational attacking midfielder the best in his recovery. The versatile German is the best prospect the country has produced since Dortmund’s Mario Gotze. As with Jude Bellingham, it is often hard to believe that he is only 18. Wirtz’s decision-making, technical quality, ball-carrying, and final pass are exquisite. He can pull off moves that players 10 years older than him could not even dream of.

Before his injury, the Leverkusen superstar was leading one of Europe’s most exciting attacks to the tune of 7 goals and 10 assists in the German Bundesliga. Wirtz also had three goals and four assists in the Europa League, extending his all-around attacking brilliance to a continental competition.

It’s unclear if Real Madrid will be able to sign Wirtz due to financial constraints and the fact that he may be dreaming of rivals Barcelona, but he is absolutely a player to watch.
