Real Madrid fans have been anxiously waiting for PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe to make his transfer decision official. They want a public announcement and to know for sure what the future holds for the No. 7. Madridistas are confident Mbappe will arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, but it is the anticipation and sliver of uncertainty that is torturing them.
Mbappe is under a lot of pressure, though. From what we have seen, Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Leonardo do not make things easier on the Paris-born player with their public remarks, such as once saying that Mbappe would never be sold or leave for free – comments the ex-Monaco star did not appreciate.
Negotiating this pressure and finding the best way to peacefully leave without Al-Khelaifi and his goons – chiefly, Leonardo – causing a stir may be the biggest reason why Kylian Mbappe has yet to make a public step towards Real Madrid in 2022.
MARCA’s Ramon Alvarez reports, via The Madrid Zone on Twitter, that Mbappe and his representation and still figuring out the best way to make a public announcement about moving from PSG to Real Madrid. You can view the video here.
Kylian Mbappe has to anticipate PSG’s attack on his character
What I don’t understand is this discussion about protecting Mbappe’s image, though. I can understand trying to navigate the pressure from Qatar and France, as even Emmanuel Macron has been trying to guilt Mbappe into staying in Ligue 1.
But how would staying for PSG hurt his image? PSG’s own image is in the mud following Al-Khelaifi attacking officials after his team lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League. Al-Khelaifi is facing a possible 28-month prison sentence for corruption, and PSG is a sportswashing project. The literal fans of the club despise the Qatari ownership and their mismanagement, with Leonardo being the cartoonish puppet of the incompetence show.
Mbappe would not be hated by anyone except the most brainwashed and uneducated of fans. You’d have to be completely absorbed by propaganda to hold anything against him.
But Mbappe is a gentleman and also a very cautious businessman. He will want to make sure his image is 100 percent intact in anticipation of the absolute vitriol PSG’s propaganda machine will hurl at him when he does eventually make his decision to join Real Madrid known.

Patience, my friends. And be aware of anyone who tries to pain Mbappe as a villain or anyone in the media who stirs significant uncertainty in order to fuel their own – or Qatar’s – agenda.
