Carlo Ancelotti finally admits Real Madrid youngster is ‘untouchable’
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has been welcomed back into the good graces of Madridistas after leading the team to its 35th LaLiga crown, as well as an improbable run to the Champions League Final. Ancelotti has gotten the big decisions spot-on in recent weeks, including in inspiring comebacks against PSG, Chelsea, and Manchester City.
But it took Ancelotti some time to see the light. Madridistas were fed up with Don Carlo for some cowardly performances, such as in the first leg against PSG, and some disastrous losses, with none worse than the 4-0 in El Clasico.
One of the biggest reasons for the turnaround is Carlo’s renewed faith in the young trio of Rodrygo Goes, Eduardo Camavinga, and Fede Valverde. These three players have been instrumental in Real’s recent success, with Fede, especially, being a common denominator in the XI of these big wins.
And finally, after Fede nearly lifted Real Madrid to a “B” team draw over Atletico Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti admitted at the ensuing press conference that he considers Fede Valverde an “untouchable” player in the team.

For months, Real Madrid fans were begging Carlo to play Fede more, reasoning that his intensity, energy, defensive work, ball-carrying, and underrated shooting would be huge to Real. Since the second leg against PSG, Fede has been a regular, doing his job consistently to help the team, whether as a midfielder or right winger.
Ancelotti’s rebound at the helm has a lot to do with trusting these young players more. Rodrygo has been on fire lately, Camavinga bossed both Chelsea and City off the pitch in midfield, and Valverde has been Mr. Consistent.

It is easy to overlook Valverde because he does so much of the “dirty work”, but he is necessary to Real Madrid’s success in the big matches. Thank goodness Ancelotti figured that out before it became too late.
