Most Real Madrid fans are not overly focused on backup forward Eden Hazard, but it has been heartwarming to see him celebrating huge Champions League victories and the LaLiga title with his teammates. Even though his time at Madrid has been frustrating thus far due to injuries, Hazard has not let that affect how he gets along with his teammates and the club; you can tell he is still valued greatly by the locker room.

It would be nice for Hazard to be able to return to the pitch after finally undergoing ankle surgery this year, as the ankle had been bothering him on and off ever since his first injury in November 2019 against PSG.

According to a report from MARCA’s Juan Ignacio Garcia-Ochoa, Eden Hazard has returned to practice and is aiming to make an appearance before the 2021/22 LaLiga campaign closes.

Hazard does not have enough time to play this week against Levante, but he could be able to play on Matchday 37 or 38 against Cadiz and Real Betis, respectively.

Eden Hazard’s future in Real Madrid beyond 2021/22 remains unclear

Again, Real Madrid have already won LaLiga, and while Vinicius Jr. could use the sharpness, he does not need to play every minute. He needs to be rested for the Champions League Final against Liverpool. That could give Hazard an opportunity to start at his favored left wing position.

Earlier this season, we saw Hazard in a “free role” on the right side of the formation, and while he did help the team with his creativity and clever touches, the sacrifice to the defensive solidity of the team was untenable.

Carlo Ancelotti has found the winning combination without Hazard and with younger players, so Hazard’s future in Madrid is murky, despite him apparently wanting to stay.

Regardless of the transfer drama, Madridistas genuinely want to see Hazard happy and succeeding if he is at the club, since he is such a beloved player to football fans for all that he has done. Financially, moving on is best. But for now, it would be ideal for Hazard to get some minutes in LaLiga, look healthy and happy, and then proceed from there.
