Kylian Mbappe drops a big hint Real Madrid transfer will be done soon
As expected, Kylian Mbappe did not make the bold move of revealing his exact transfer decision at Sunday’s UNFP awards. But the dream Real Madrid transfer target did talk about when he might make the official decision, which hints at the timeline indicated by a lot of reporters.
Mbappe, the best player in Ligue 1, is fully expected to join Los Blancos. Though he has probably not signed something with Florentino Perez, the two reportedly have a verbal agreement that the president is confident he will not back down on.
Recent reporting from MARCA’s Mario Cortegana has made it seem like the deal will be closed soon, and Mbappe’s own words at the awards ceremony seemed to reflect that.
Here’s what the PSG superstar said, via Fabrizio Romano:
"“I can’t say about my future but you’ll know very soon… it’s almost decided”“This isn’t the right moment but yes, yes… my decision is almost done.”"
And if that wasn’t enough, he added this shot at the people who thought he cared about the PSG all-time scoring record enough to stay:
Real Madrid fans won’t celebrate until Kylian Mbappe is in the Bernabeu
Real Madrid reporters are saying a deal to Madrid is almost done. Mbappe is saying a deal in general is almost done. His environment is telling L’Equipe he is more likely to leave Paris than stay. Mbappe’s own mother publicly denied a premature report from Le Parisien that he had shockingly renewed with the Qatari-owned club.
Mbappe to Real Madrid is not official, but it could be as soon as after the May 21 fixture against Metz to close the Ligue 1 season, just as Robert Lewandowski announced his intention to leave Bayern Munich after their final game of the Bundesliga season this past weekend.
Madridistas know that they should not celebrate until they see the Comunicado Oficial. Mbappe has announced nothing yet. But this is a very big, cheeky hint from a smart young man who knows exactly what he is doing and saying.

This is the ultimate wink to Madridistas. The transfer saga may at long last be over in about six days or so, after the Ligue 1 season officially ends. And we can all finally breathe again. It has been one tumultuous time, but adding a player with 25 goals and 17 assists in the league this season for free will be so, so worth it.
