Real Madrid fans have been asking for a proper update regarding Kylian Mbappe for a long, long time, and we did sort of get one on Sunday during the ceremony when Mbappe said he’d be happy to be a top-three PSG goalscorer of all time, cheekily indicating that he does not intend on staying in France for long enough to beat Cavani’s record.

But, now, according to a very well reputed journalist, it seems like the saga is truly coming to a close.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Kylian Mbappe has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid, although PSG are still trying to keep him.

Kylian Mbappe is expected to sign his contract with Real Madrid after PSG’s season ends

According to the report from the trustworthy Ornstein, Mbappe hasn’t signed anything yet, but will sign the contract as soon as the season ends with PSG playing Nantes on the weekend.

He’s not the only reporter that has been talking about stuff like this. Fabrizio Romano, although hasn’t confirmed the transfer yet, is talking about how this next week is extremely important, and that the decision will be announced in that timespan.

According to him, Real Madrid will have new contacts with Kylian Mbappe tomorrow (Tuesday) and the player is said to have conversations with his lawyers about the same, along with about how they should announce the decision, whether to stay or to leave. He says Real Madrid are extremely confident, and the expectation right now is that Mbappe would sign for Los Blancos.

Mario Cortegana also talked about Mbappe traveling from Doha to Paris to talk to his trusted people, and he says that the deal will be closed tomorrow, although it’s unlikely that it is announced tomorrow itself.

This next week is going to have Real Madrid fans feeling anxious and excited about the transfer, but I am sure that the eventual announcement would be more than worth it. I can’t wait.
