Real Madrid reportedly give ultimatums to two players who could be sold
Real Madrid will have some tough decisions to make in the summer transfer window. Although they are bringing in two of the best free agents possible in Kylian Mbappe and Antonio Rudiger, Madridistas know that a top No. 6 and even a top right back would do wonders in helping assert Real as the true top team in Europe.
In order to sign players like, say, Aurelien Tchouameni and Pedro Porro, Los Blancos will need to make sales. Moving the likes of Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard may be difficult, but those are two obvious names on the transfer market, along with Jesus Vallejo and Mariano Diaz.
According to a report from Ruben Canizares of ABC Deportes, Real Madrid have also sent clear statements to right winger Marco Asensio and center midfielder Dani Ceballos. Either sign the contract renewals offered to them or be sold this summer.
Real Madrid should sell both Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos
Ceballos and Asensio would be free agents after the 2023/24 season. Many Madridistas do not even want Asensio to be offered a renewal, but it seems as though Florentino Perez and Carlo Ancelotti want him as a squad player. Asensio has hired Jorge Mendes as his new agent, hinting at a likely departure, meaning he probably isn’t interested in taking the offer on the table from Madrid. And they should not offer him more.
Meanwhile, Ceballos has impressed a lot lately, and Ancelotti and the club now want him to stay. There are two problems, though. Firstly, would Ceballos really be OK with being a backup? Secondly, and most importantly to Madridistas, is it worth keeping Ceballos if it means missing out on Tchouameni? Selling Ceballos for around 20 million euros could help the Merengues afford a 60 million euro deal for Tchouameni (I do not believe Monaco will get the 80 million euros they seek here).

While Ceballos is an effective midfielder and Asensio can bring goals, Real Madrid may be better off letting both players go and selling them for a profit this summer. If they do not sign the renewals at the rates Real are offering, that will indeed be their future.
