Kylian Mbappe will finally make his Real Madrid transfer decision in the coming weeks. Nobody knows exactly when the PSG superstar will make his future known to the world, but after a speech in which he teased moving to Madrid at the UNFP awards, Madridistas are confident Mbappe will make his decision to move to the Santiago Bernabeu before the end of May. It seems like that will even happen on Saturday after the Metz match or on  Sunday in a televised interview.

Of course, Madridistas will be more focused on the May 28 Champions League Final against Liverpool. It would make sense for the move to be made official after this date, so that the saga does not interfere with the story of a potential 14th title win for the Royal Whites.

As for Mbappe, he continues to receive pressure from PSG and politicians alike, but one thing is clear, Real Madrid is his dream.

And French legend Jean-Pierre Papin, a former Ballon d’Or winner, is here to remind his compatriot to never give up on this dream.

The former Bayern and Marseille star said, via MARCA:

"“A player, if he has dreams, must achieve them. If his dream is to play for Real Madrid, he has to go there, otherwise he will regret it for the rest of his life.”"

Kylian Mbappe should follow in the footsteps of those who joined Real Madrid

Better yet, Papin apparently made this point to Kylian Mbappe’s father Wilfried at a charity match.

Papin knows what he is talking about, and while he is not a part of the decision-making process for Mbappe, he is right. Mbappe, especially after making this a transfer saga lasting years, would surely regret backing out of a decision to join Real Madrid. They are the club of his dreams since he was a child, and he has a chance to write history there as the main star, surrounded by other world-class talents like Vinicius Jr. and his good friend Karim Benzema.

We saw Eduardo Camavinga wait a year and then take less money to join Real Madrid. Young players like Fede Valverde, Vinicius Jr., and Rodrygo Goes are also taking less for the team, as are players like Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Karim Benzema who have been superstars at the Bernabeu for years.

Next. Real Madrid may have to sell a future star in 2023 transfer window. dark

Mbappe is ready to follow in their footsteps. Papin’s words are strong, but they are wise. It would be a shock if the mature, composed Mbappe did not heed them.
