Dani Carvajal sends Mohamed Salah hilarious diss before Champions League Final
Real Madrid right back Dani Carvajal recently had some honest words for Kylian Mbappe, who dragged out a transfer saga and used the name of the club of Carvajal’s heart in order to earn an unprecedented contract from PSG.
Now, Carvajal has more stern words for a superstar forward, but this time he is focused on a star player his team will go up against this Saturday night in the Champions League Final.
In an interview with ABC Deportes’ Rubin Canizares, Dani Carvajal had a response to Mohamed Salah and all the interviews he has been making lately. Salah seems very confident about getting revenge against the Merengues, and he has never stopped talking about the injury he suffered against Sergio Ramos and the Merengues in the 2018 Champions League Final.
So the Real Madrid right back decided to have some fun with Salah:
"“Hopefully it won’t be a burden for Salah to lose a second Champions League final.”"
Although Carvajal is not a player who often makes statements, he makes his words count. And this diss of Salah is yet another example of that.
To be fair to Salah, he did win a Champions League Final one year after the Madrid defeat, as Liverpool took care of business against mediocre underdogs Tottenham Hotspur.
But to be brutally honest, Salah and the Reds did not exactly set the world on fire the last time they faced the Merengues, getting knocked out by the 13-time Champions League winners in last season’s quarterfinals – and Real were clearly not at full strength as a squad either, so that possible excuse goes out the window.
Of course, 2022 is a different year, and Liverpool are even stronger than they were then with the likes of Thiago Alcantara, Ibrahima Konate, and Luis Diaz firing on all cylinders. And Salah and his wing partner Sadio Mane, whom Carvajal should be more worried about, are both still among the world’s best players.

That said, Carva has every right to poke fun at Salah. These kinds of harmless banter comments to the media spice things up before a big game. Jose Mourinho can vouch for that.
