Real Madrid did not wallow after losing Kylian Mbappe, who decided to stay with PSG in the cruelest of ways. Immediately, Los Blancos began focusing on the next player on their transfer list, though the focus was obviously on securing their 14th Champions League Title.

Well, the Merengue club defeated Liverpool 1-0 to secure the trophy, and now they are about to land their big-ticket transfer despite there being some drama.

Aurelien Tchouameni is the best possible midfielder that can be signed. He is a generational talent as a 6 due to his elite defensive work, composure on the ball, passing accuracy, and technical quality in the final third.

PSG wanted to drive up the price and used both former Monaco sporting director and their superstar Mbappe to try and sign Tchouameni. But Tchouameni had no interest in the money. He chose Real Madrid over Liverpool and PSG, making it clear that is where he wants to go next.

Real Madrid’s transfer for Aurelien Tchouameni is ‘imminent’

Monaco used PSG’s involvement to jack up the transfer fee, forcing Real to make a decision on how badly they want him.

And they do want him BAD.

According to RMC Sport’s Clement Brossard, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez personally got involved in the negotiations to make sure this difficult transfer got over the line. With PSG involved, Tchouameni’s quality, and all the drama, Perez wisely did not leave anything to chance. (That’s my presi, as the Madridistas say!)

Perez further accelerated talks after winning the UCL, as Tchouameni now became the top priority with the title already won.

And according to the main RMC Sport account, and 80 million euro deal for Tchouameni between Monaco and Real Madrid is “imminent”. Since Real and Tchouameni had already agreed on personal terms a while back, this deal will get over the line. Monaco wanting to get every cent from the deal was the last hurdle.

Tchouameni is already a world-class midfielder at the age of 23 and will be a top addition for the future and present. Fede Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Eduardo Camavinga. What a trio!
