It’s time for an official break from club football in Europe, and this brings us to the most awaited summer transfer window. Real Madrid is expected to be a busy club this summer, and they are into business already, having signed Antonio Rudiger with only an official announcement remaining. They are trying hard to secure the signing of Aurelien Tchouameni, and there is a high possibility that the transfer might be a successful one.
Amidst all the obvious and not so obvious transfer rumours of the transfer window, the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano has come up with an exclusive, that has left a lot of fans surprised and excited at the same time.
According to the Italian journalist, Real Madrid is preparing to bid for Chicago Fire’s 18-year-old goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina, who has been called up a couple of times by the US Men’s National Team and is a regular face for their U-20 team. Apparently, Chicago fire is waiting for an offer from Los Blancos.
The fans are surprised because it is very rare seeing Real Madrid linked with an American international, and are excited at the same time because of the keeper’s immense potential.
Slonina is a highly rated keeper, with a lot of other European clubs targeting him
Slonina is a highly talented keeper, and clubs like Chelsea and Wolves have been looking to sign him for a while. The 193 cm tall keeper has developed excellent ball-playing skills and also has the ability to pull off unbelievable saves, something that drew the interest of a lot of scouts.
This is the second keeper Real Madrid is looking to sign this summer, having signed the ‘next Casillas’, Ferran Quetglas for the academy. Even Slonina might be a signing for Castilla, as their current keeper, Toni Fuidias is expected to leave Castilla.
But we shouldn’t be surprised if Slonina is signed for the first-team, as there remains a chance that Andriy Lunin might leave Real Madrid.

‘Gaga’ Slonina, who has drawn comparisons to Gianluigi Buffon at such a young age, would indeed be a wonderful signing for Real Madrid, and we need to wait and watch for any further development in this deal.
