Real Madrid are closing in on one of the best possible signings in midfield this summer, as they are set to agree to terms with Monaco for Aurelien Tchouameni, whom they have already agreed to personal terms.
Tchouameni will be a world-class addition to the midfield for the next decade to come, and while he will be pricy, he is worth it as the only person who could have possibly replaced Casemiro.
That will give Real an enviable trio in the future in Eduardo Camavinga, Fede Valverde, and Tchouameni. But it does not seem like they will stop right there.
Real Madrid continue to be linked to Jude Bellingham
According to BILD, Real Madrid would like to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham in 2023, as that is when the Black and Yellows would be open to selling the promising youngster.
Bellingham has been discussed as a possible creative replacement for Luka Modric. Nobody can replace Modric – it must be said – but Bellingham is indeed a creative presence in midfield who could add a dimension that the Merengues would need in 2023 and beyond.
A phenom at the age of 18, it is hard to believe Bellingham is still a teenager when he has scored six goals with 12 assists in all competitions this season as a center midfielder. You cannot find that sort of production from the vast majority of players in his position who are in their primes, and these numbers do not even account for his ball progression.
With more than three dribbles per game in European competition and nearly three fouls drawn per game in the Bundesliga, Bellingham is a serious all-around talent in midfield. He will be costly and a tough deal to pull off, but Real Madrid should absolutely be interested in signing him.
