Real Madrid need to now plan for the summer so that they’re able to compete in all competitions next season just as well as they did this season. There are some players that are going to leave the club, some that have already announced their departures, and it makes sense for the club to find some players worth targeting for this summer.

It’s a known fact that Gabriel Jesus wants to leave Manchester City this summer. He’s on his last contract year, and it would make sense for him to leave now, so that City are able to get a fee for him.

According to a report by Antón Meana, later confirmed by Mario Cortegana, Real Madrid have been offered the services of Gabriel Jesus, and the club is interested. However, nothing is confirmed, and there are a few complications within the deal.

The non-EU spots at Real Madrid make this Gabriel Jesus deal a bit complicated

According to Meana, Real are interested in Jesus, and the player would want a 5 million per year deal, which is not too bad, either. And the fact that he has only one year left on his contract makes the whole thing even more economical. However, he would take up a non-EU spot at the club, something that can’t really be done at this moment, considering all three of those spots are currently occupied.

One’s occupied by superstar Vinicius Junior, another is occupied by Eder Militao and the final one is taken up by Rodrygo. Now, the deal is not impossible, because these players should be able to get their Spanish passports sooner rather than later, because they’ve been in the country for long enough. But it’s still not done yet, which is why the whole deal would probably take some time, if Real are actually serious about it.

However, here’s the thing about Gabriel Jesus. He needs minutes, which is why he’s leaving Manchester City. He’s known to be able to play in multiple positions in the attack, even as a right-winger. But, obviously, it’s not his preferred position, and if it were up to me, I’d go for an actual right-winger (namely, Gnabry), but it isn’t up to me.

Jesus is still a great option, and he has scored 15 or more goals in three of his five seasons in Manchester, and he would be competing with Rodrygo for a spot in the line-up, which I am fine with. Both of those players would push each other, and it’ll only result in more healthy competition within the squad.

Besides, I don’t think Asensio is good enough to have a role in the team next season, so even though Gnabry is my preferred option, I’d take Gabriel Jesus over Asensio. Hopefully, Real are able to sort this issue out before it’s too late, though.
