It’s been a week since Real Madrid lifted their 14th Champions League title and celebrated it with the fans at Cibeles and in the Santiago Bernabeu, but it has been difficult to move on from that celebratory mood.

Real Madrid has had a dream 2021/22 season, winning their 35th LaLiga title and 14th Champions League title, but it still feels like a dream. This dream has become a possibility due to the stars of Real Madrid, who have been duly appreciated by the fans.

But there are some unsung heroes at Real Madrid, who have played a role in the club’s success this season, but their contribution has gone under the radar, let us talk about those heroes today, and celebrate their work.

1. Nacho

Nacho has been asked to play the most difficult role any player could ask for. He has been the third choice centre-back for Real Madrid, and he would fill in at any position in the backline when asked to do so by his manager.

Any other player would lose patience in this role and would look to leave for any other club where they can be a starter. But not Nacho. He would instead prefer to continue in the same role at his boyhood club, rejecting every better offer that comes his way.

in the process, he has done a lot and won a lot of trophies for the club. Yet, he remains underrated and he isn’t given the recognition he deserves. And this season hasn’t been any different.

He has played more than 2500 minutes this season, playing as a centre-back, left-back and right-back from time to time. Unsurprisingly, he has had a lot of good games as a centre-back, including the solid performance against Manchester City at the Bernabeu that lasted for 120 minutes, and also the great displays against Inter Milan, Valencia, and Athletic Bilbao.

His best game of the season was against PSG at the Bernabeu, in which he completely silenced Achraf Hakimi and Leo Messi as a left-back. He has also directly contributed to Real Madrid’s wins this season, chipping in with important goals against Alaves, Granada and Sevilla in the league, which round off a good season for him.
