Real Madrid have made landing a forward a near-top priority for the forthcoming transfer window, which opens in less than a week. Several candidates, both from other clubs and within the academy, have been examined in recent days to take up the mantle, with the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Serge Gnabry being connected with on and off club ambitions.

Apart from the Manchester City and Bayern Munich players, three additional players have been offered to Real, according to Marca. These are Rafael Leao, Raheem Sterling, and Romelu Lukaku.

Following the additions of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, Sterling is unlikely to enter Pep Guardiola’s list of options. For numerous reasons, Lukaku has been unduly gloomy about his future at Chelsea. And Leao has lately had a tremendous season with the Rossoneri, which has put him on the radar of numerous top teams.

How fruitful would it be for Real Madrid to sign these three players?

While all three of the aforementioned players are elite talents, this should not overshadow the reality that they each bring their unique set of wins and losses to the table, as substantiated by how dissimilar their seasons with their various teams have been.

Rafael Leao, for example, has had a fantastic season for a 22-year-old with AC Milan, recording 14 goals and 10 assists to help the club win the Scudetto. Given his age, his signing would undoubtedly be the most advantageous of the three, but it would also rely on the price tag Milan attaches to him, since his contract is still up for the next two years, allowing the Italian club to demand a hefty sum.

In terms of Raheem Sterling, the Englishman has had yet another season of steady performance in the Premier League, with over two dozen goals coming from his feet across numerous positions, demonstrating his versatility. His signing, however, may be inversely proportionate to the purchase of Gabriel Jesus, who is already liked by Carlo Ancelotti, as Guardiola would not want to lose both of his top players at the same time considering how much he values squad depth.

Romelu Lukaku, who is now failing to find regularity in Tuchel’s system, may be the most desperate of all. Los Blancos, on the other hand, should have many or most reasons not to bring Lukaku to Madrid. His contract continues until 2026, allowing the new owners to seek a large price to repay the record fee they paid for him.
