5 Real Madrid players who can reach another level in 2022/23
So far, Real Madrid have had a productive transfer market, perhaps even better than anyone else in Europe to this point. The champions of LaLiga and Europe have not rested on their laurels, as Florentino Perez has set the tone by quickly securing Antonio Rudiger on a free transfer and Aurelien Tchouameni to be part of the future of the midfield.
As Madridistas continue to ponder the rest of the summer transfer window, particularly at the forward spots, what about the players currently signed to the Madrid squad?
Continuity is valued at the White House, and the players currently on the squad can make Real Madrid that much more dangerous, just by finding a new level to their games.
So here are five players from the 2021/22 season who could elevate themselves further in the 2022/23 season.
CM/RW Fede Valverde
We begin with Fede Valverde, who is already a very successful player for Real Madrid. But even he knows he can get better, specifically when it comes to producing more goals and assists for the team. At the end of the 2021/22 campaign, he couldn’t have come closer to scoring more often, smashing the woodwork and whizzing near-wondergoals by the post.
Early in the 2020/21 season before injuries derailed a promising campaign, Fede impressed with his scoring prowess. And as a potential playmaker, Valverde showed his potential in the Champions League Final by setting up the winning goal for Vinicius Jr.
Valverde brings so much to the table in intangibles, whether he plays in midfield or on the right wing. Now imagine where he would rank among the best players in the world if he could take another step forward in 2022/23 as a secondary scoring threat and a source of assists. It is entirely within the realm of possibilities.
