This Carlo Ancelotti quote shows how much he loves Real Madrid

Let’s be honest, I don’t think most of us were big fans of Real Madrid bringing Carlo Ancelotti back in the summer of 2021. Zinedine Zidane had left, and Real Madrid had a bunch of coaches they could’ve gone for, but they went for Ancelotti, giving him a chance to come back to the top stage.

It’s fair to say Ancelotti took that opportunity with both hands. I was adamant about the move at first, and even when Real were actually crushing it in the league, particularly till the first leg of the PSG game, or even the Clasico at home.

After that, it all changed. Ancelotti started learning from his mistakes, and he helped the club to a 14th Champions League triumph, and a 35th La Liga title. Those are not small feats, which is exactly why some of us thought it was necessary to write an apology to Ancelotti.

But it goes further beyond that. It’s not just the out-of-the-blue opportunity presenting itself to Ancelotti that made him return to the top level. It’s the connection he has with Real Madrid. It’s the love he has for the club, and it could not be better described than by showing you what he said about his “job”.

Ancelotti, first and foremost, loves football. He’s a massive fan of the sport, and it shows. He knows how to keep the egos in check, and he has shown that he can learn from his mistakes.

But, most of all, it was his love and passion for the club. You can’t say otherwise. Ancelotti has said on multiple occasions that he would never want to leave the club, and he’d never say no to Real Madrid. The Italian coach said after he was hired that he loves the opportunity to come back, and he’ll make the most of it. That he did.

Most managers don’t really have this connection with their clubs. And it’s just what makes Ancelotti so likeable as a person. The whole locker room adores him, and now, the whole fanbase adores him, once again.
