Real Madrid: Isco’s next club would actually be perfect for him

Isco’s not a Real Madrid player anymore, which makes me a little sad because I was a huge fan of him during his prime. For two or three years, Isco was perhaps one of the most unpredictable players in the world, and he was what made the diamond experiment last for longer than it was expected. His chance-creation was at an all-time high, he used to zigzag past multiple players at will, and it was a joy to watch him play.

And then, he started declining a little bit, and the coaches started using him less. He had fallen out of favour with every coach that tried him out, just because he wasn’t match-fit and, well, maybe he wasn’t perhaps as good as he was in his prime.

But Isco still could’ve helped Madrid out with a few more minutes, because we saw the spark was still there whenever he played. He wasn’t unplayable.

But, Isco’s contract expired this season, and he is now a free agent. But, I don’t think he’s done with football at the top level. According to multiple reports, Isco to Sevilla is a matter of time.

Lopetegui wants Isco at Sevilla, and it’s a great move for all parties involved

I won’t lie, I kind of wanted Isco to go to Betis. It was a very exciting option for him. Playing under Manuel Pellegrini, the coach that brought him into the limelight at Malaga, rediscovering his form at a very, very exciting team, which has players like Sergio Canales and Nabil Fekir. It would’ve been very fun.

But Sevilla ain’t half bad, either.

According to the reports, the move is a matter of time. Lopetegui wants him, and Isco liked Sevilla’s offer the most. He actually liked it so much that he is willing to lower his demands and move to the club. Interesting.

Actually, Isco played some of his best football for Spain under Lopetegui. We all remember his incredible performance vs Italy, where he absolutely cooked Marco Verratti on every possession, don’t we? Well, I wouldn’t expect the exact same from him, because he’s not as good anymore, but I would bet good money on Isco rediscovering his form at Sevilla.

It’s an exciting team with Champions League football guaranteed for next season, and they also have title aspirations, so Isco playing regularly for a top-level team would be very fun to watch.
