Real Madrid: Marcelo could still play in Europe next season
It’s been a few weeks since Marcelo left Real Madrid, and it still hurts a little whenever I think of his departure. The man just loved the club like a fan expects a player to, and it’s always sad to see a fan favourite, a legend like Marcelo leaving the club.
But, it was the correct decision. Marcelo could’ve probably stayed at the club if he had taken a mentor role, but he believes he has a few years of top-level football left in him, so he’s going to test that out.
There was a report about Marcelo being looked at as an option by Milan a few weeks ago, but now, there is a new Italian club that is in talks with the Brazilian legend.
According to MARCA, Lazio and Marcelo are currently in talks, and the Italian club wants to know what his intentions are in terms of playing at the top level. Marseille are also interested, per report.
Marcelo can still have a role at a European club, contrary to earlier beliefs
Many people thought that Marcelo would retire at Real Madrid, or, at the very least, leave Europe and go to Qatar or the States. But, that’s not happening. Marcelo definitely wants to continue playing European football, and to be honest, I don’t know much about Lazio, but it does seem like a good place for him.
I don’t think Marcelo would be a guaranteed starter there, but it’s not like he doesn’t have the love for football in him. He can still contribute to the attack, and is still more than capable of playing for a team like Lazio, who are not exactly an elite team, but they have what it takes to challenge for the Europa League.

Marcelo’s wisdom, experience and expertise would definitely help them a lot in those regards, because this man is a born winner. The club would love to have such a fantastic leader and locker room guy.
