Real Madrid play FC Barcelona in a preseason El Clasico on Saturday night, and it’s actually going to be pretty fun, if all goes well. If it doesn’t, then well, it’s going to be horribly wrong, but what the hell? It’s pre-season, who cares?

But, since it is Real Madrid, they’ll surely be facing injuries even in the first game of the season. It has to be this way.

According to multiple reliable Spanish reporters, including Mario Cortegana, Real Madrid have practically ruled out Karim Benzema for the Clasico due to inadequate training prior to the game. But, he’s not the only player that is a doubt for the game. Dani Carvajal is the only player who didn’t participate in the final training session, and he may miss the Clasico on Sunday.

Vinicius Tobias may get significant minutes due to Carvajal’s supposed injury

Real Madrid know that the game is not worth risking players, which is why we know that even if Carvajal’s injury is minor, he still isn’t going to play the game. It’s only a friendly, why take the risk?

But, Vinicius Tobias, a player that has been talked about a lot at Real Madrid’s training camp, will probably get significant minutes because of this. He’s probably not going to start the game still, we’ll probably see Lucas Vazquez start instead, but, I really think he will get 45 minutes or so against Barcelona to prove what he’s capable of.

I think it’s going to be fun. We’ve heard people say Vinicius Tobias is a very good player when going forward, but does lack a little when it comes to defense. However, everyone at the camp says he is improving at a very quick speed, and it remains to be seen just how quick that is.

I don’t think he makes a run for the starting spot this season, but if all goes well, we just might see more of him in the next two seasons.

As for Benzema, I am pretty sure we are going to see Hazard and Juanmi Latasa play as a false nine and as a striker respectfully. Hazard had a scare during training but is supposedly feeling OK now, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
