Real Madrid: A Fede Valverde stat that will blow your mind
Real Madrid’s Fede Valverde is just too good, isn’t he? Like, whenever I watch him play, I am left in awe of the kind of player he is, and the kind of love he has for the team. It seems like he is carrying forward the Marcelo legacy, representing the whole fanbase when he celebrates with the team, and when he gives press conferences.
Valverde knows what to say, and he never says anything bad of the team. He’s in love with the club, and we love him for it.
But if you talk about what he is able to achieve as a player, well, it is so much more than just talent. The love he has for the club and for winning takes him to a different level when it matters most, and it doesn’t really matter where Fede is playing.
We’ve seen him play well as a central midfielder, as a defensive midfielder, as a right midfielder, a right-winger, and a right-back. My man can do absolutely anything.
Fede Valverde’s long shots are a thing of beauty, it’s a shame most of them don’t go in
But there is one thing about his game that is not talked about enough. It’s Fede’s long shots. All his long shots are hit with so much power and accuracy, and yet, he never gets the recognition for them, because they don’t end up in the back of the net.
It’s a freaky stat, but MARCA have pointed out that out of the last 10 long shots Valverde has taken, eight of them have hit the post. EIGHT!
How is that even possible? Like, 80% of his shots hit the post? Imagine how unlucky you have to be to have a stat like that after your name, it’s absolutely insane.
Valverde’s 10th long shot was against Barcelona; an astonishing long shot from way, way out, that hit the woodwork. Marc Andre Ter Stegen had no chance of saving it even if it was an inch to the right, but it wasn’t. It’s something that is really out of Valverde’s control, but hopefully, his shots from now go an inch towards where they should go, because this guy really is an excellent shooter from long-range.

I have never seen a statistic quite like this, and I probably wouldn’t see anything like it for a while. Either way, some of them just have to go in. They will, at some point. They have to.
