If there is one thing we’ve seen from the pre-season friendlies, it’s that Real Madrid desperately need to sign a striker as soon as possible. There’s no ifs and buts around it, or at least, there shouldn’t be. The club very clearly needs a striker to support Benzema when he’s not around, or when he requires rest, and they’ll need to sign a striker that fits the needs.

Now, Real Madrid, according to Nizaar Kinsella, are interested in signing Armando Broja, and have reportedly made contacts with Chelsea regarding the same.

It’s good that we’re finally getting rumors about a potential signing, but, I am just not too sure about this signing. It’s not about the player not being good enough or anything like that, the reason’s actually deeper than just that.

Broja is simply not going to play at Real Madrid, the club needs a veteran

Broja is definitely a talented forward, and has the tools to be a top-level striker. I do not know a whole lot about the forward, I won’t lie, but the problem isn’t with the player, it’s with his age and his playing time.

Broja is a very young forward, and he needs a lot of game time to morph into the player everyone wants him to be. He’s clearly not Real Madrid material yet, but with time, he could become a top-level striker. The problem is, he won’t get that game time at Real Madrid.

The main player in his position is Karim Benzema, and there is no way Broja is going to displace Benzema from the starting XI, which means he will only play a few games. When he does play, he’ll be cold, and if his attitude isn’t right, he will fall out of favour with the fans. Sound familiar?

We’re looking at another potential Luka Jovic case. Now, I am not saying that is the only outcome. Of course, Broja can become great off the bench and provide Real with valuable minutes, but that’s very tough. The club actually needs a striker that can play off the bench and doesn’t need minutes on the pitch to develop, because of their age.

Next. Why Real Madrid should definitely go for Haaland in 2024. dark

They need a veteran who could help the team whenever needed, a player like Dzeko. He’s not the only option, but at the moment, he’d certainly be better and more of an impact than Broja or any other young striker.
