Coming in as the defending Spanish and European champions, Real Madrid have not had to make too many changes to their squad this summer. In terms of major signings, the club have brought in Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni. On the other hand, the likes of Gareth Bale, Isco, Marcelo and a few others have headed out of Santiago Bernabeu.

Overall though, Real Madrid have managed to hold onto the core of their squad and Carlo Ancelotti should be happy with the players he has, going into the 2022/23 season.

One player, who appears to be drawing a lot of interest from England though is Casemiro. The Brazilian midfielder was just recently linked with a move to Manchester United, and now, it appears that another Premier League giant have joined the race to sign him.

As reported by 90min, Chelsea are long-term admirers of Casemiro and would be interested in signing him this summer. They have been looking at him much longer than Manchester United and Todd Boehly is considering a late transfer bid for the Brazilian midfield general.

Chelsea have joined Manchester United in race for Real Madrid superstar

Despite his incredible achievements, it feels like Casemiro does not get the credit that he deserves.

He is the one who proved to be the missing piece of the puzzle in this Real Madrid side and helped transform them into a dominant force in European football once again.

Casemiro has five Champions League medals to his name and has also won the Copa America with the Brazil national team.

While he is 30 years of age, Casemiro is still a very important member of this Real Madrid team and as a result, it is hard to see him leaving the club anytime soon, even if Chelsea or Manchester United come calling this summer.

So, despite all the noise surrounding his future, expect Casemiro to remain at Real Madrid for the foreseeable future.
