Casemiro’s Real Madrid career might be coming to a close soon. And what a run it has been, as he won the UEFA Champions League on five occasions, along with three La Liga titles as well. All good things must come to an end though and it looks like the Brazilian midfielder is headed for Manchester United now.

Rumours in Spain have suggested that Casemiro would see his salary almost doubled if he joined Manchester United, and thus, it is not hard to understand why he might be interested, despite the club’s struggles in recent years. On the other hand, he is 30 and this will surely be the last big move of his career as well.

Even a couple of days back, there was very little doubt that Casemiro would remain a Real Madrid player this season. But as of today, it seems like it is only a matter of time before we see him holding up a Manchester United jersey.

As reported by Marca, Casemiro will undergo his medical with Manchester United on Friday with the permission of Real Madrid.

It looks like Casemiro is set to bring the curtain down on what has been a legendary career at the Santiago Bernabeu.

While there is no doubt that it is sad to see a player of his quality and stature leave, it also gives Real Madrid the chance to build the team of their future.

The club have recently signed the likes of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni and in the absence of Casemiro, players like them will get the opportunity to play a bigger role in Carlo Ancelotti’s team and hopefully show that they are the future of Real Madrid’s midfield.

Los Blancos have also been linked with a potential move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham next summer.

If this is indeed the end of Casemiro’s time at Real Madrid, then all we can do is thank him for the memories and wish him the best of luck for his future.
