Casemiro has been a key part of Real Madrid for years, and formed one of the greatest midfield trios of all-time alongside Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, with the three producing four Champions League titles while playing together. Thus, it is safe to say that the Brazilian has enjoyed an incredible time at Santiago Bernabeu and will go down as a club legend.

Unfortunately, his time at Real Madrid might come to an end sooner than anybody could have expected, as it looks like Manchester United hold an interest in signing the Brazilian, after their summer-long chase to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona has led nowhere.

Manchester United need to strengthen in the middle of the park after seeing Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic leave this summer, and someone like Casemiro would be a spectacular signing for the Red Devils. Real Madrid appear to have made a surprising decision surrounding the Brazilian as well.

As reported by Sky Sports, Real Madrid are open to the transfer of Casemiro to Manchester United in a potential deal worth in excess of £60 million. Talks are ongoing between the two clubs.

Real Madrid have made a surprise Casemiro transfer decision

One would think that Real Madrid would want to keep hold of Casemiro. He played a key part in their Champions League triumph last season against all odds, and on his day, is still one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.

But it looks like Real Madrid already have their eyes on the future. They have signed Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni in recent times. On top of that, the club have been linked with a move for Jude Bellingham next summer.

Thus, many might view letting Casemiro go for a transfer fee north of £60 million as a sensible move on the part of the club.
