Most of the news surrounding Real Madrid over the past few days has involved Casemiro, and for good reason. After an incredible run at Santiago Bernabeu, which produced five Champions League titles, three La Ligas, a Copa del Rey and several other trophies, the Brazilian has decided to call time on his Los Blancos career and is going to join Manchester United.
While the move might not make a lot of sense considering Manchester United’s struggles on the pitch over the past decade, rumours have suggested that it is set to almost double Casemiro’s salary. Also, at 30 years of age, this is most definitely the last big move of his career.
But while Casemiro heads out of Santiago Bernabeu, a youngster seems to be on the verge of arriving at the club.
As tweeted out by Sergio Santos, Real Madrid have closed the signing of Iker Bravo and it will take a few days due to a process with FIFA. There is a total agreement between the clubs for a move with a purchase option.
Real Madrid are close to completing their third summer signing
Real Madrid have already signed Aurelien Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger this summer, and while those two might end up playing a big role in the first-team, someone like Bravo could be one for the future.
Bravo is 17 years of age and has already impressed immensely at the youth level for Spain. He currently is at Bayer Leverkusen, and has already made a couple of appearances for their senior side, which goes onto show how highly the striker is rated.
As a result, bringing in someone like Bravo could turn out to be a great move for Real Madrid in the long run. At the same time though, it is hard to see him getting much of a look in the first-team, anytime in the near future.
