Real Madrid’s summer transfer plans might have taken a drastic turn, considering the events of the past couple of days. Carlo Ancelotti surely would have made his plans for the upcoming season with Casemiro as part of his squad. But now, it looks like that will not be the case, as the Brazilian is on the verge of joining Manchester United.

Rumours suggest that Real Madrid have agreed an offer from Manchester United of €60 million fixed fee plus €10 million in add-ons, for the transfer of Casemiro.

Thus, it only seems like a matter of time before we see Casemiro holding up a Manchester United shirt. On the other hand, that leaves Real Madrid in need of replacing one of their most experienced and reliable stars.

It seems like Los Blancos have a Tottenham Hotspur player in their sights. As reported by The Telegraph, Real Madrid are targeting Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to replace Casemiro.

Hojbjerg has been at Bayern Munich in the past but that did not work out as well as was hoped. The Danish international has revived his career since leaving the Bavarian giants though.

He ended up moving to Southampton, and his impressive performances there earned him a move to Tottenham Hotspur. Hojbjerg has continued to grow from strength to strength there as well, and is an important part of Antonio Conte’s side.

He managed to score a brilliant goal against Chelsea in Tottenham Hotspur’s recent 2-2 draw away at Stamford Bridge.

Also, he is still just 27 years of age and as a result, very much entering his prime. But Hojbjerg’s current deal at Tottenham Hotspur is believed to run till the summer of 2025 though. As a result, it would not be easy for Real Madrid to sign him.
